Palace Theatre opened in 1913 and became on of the world’s most famous vaudeville movie house—until its demise in the 1930s. In 1965 the Nederlanders purchased and renovated the theater, which became legitimate in 1966 with the opening of Sweet Charity.
After further renovations, the theater was transformed in 1994 as it housed Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and later Aida.

Priscilla is on Broadway! PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT is a hit musical by the Australian producer Gary McQuinn, based on the 1994 movie titled "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". Priscilla had transferred from London's West End to Broadway in 2011.
Priscilla on Broadway is based on the Oscar award-winning film, telling the story of Tick, Bernadette and Adam, a glamorous Sydney-based performing drag queen trio that agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback. Priscilla is a heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus (nicknamed Priscilla) searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

The current production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert in Broadway features:- Will Svenson as Tick/Mitz. Svenson was Tony award nominee for "Hair".
- Tony Sheldon as Bernadette. Tony played the role in over 1600 performances in Australia, New Zeland and London, where he was nominated for the Olivier Award.
- Nick Adam as Adam/Felicia. Adams became a fellow of the American Theater Hall of Fame for his performance on Priscilla
