Broadway darling Rachel Potter made a huge splash on television when she appeared as a finalist on the final season of the FOX competition series The X Factor (#TeamKelly). In 2012, she released the EP Live the Dream, and on February 24, The Addams Family and Evita vet returns to NYC to perform two shows at 54 Below (7 PM and 9:30 PM). For her grand return to the New York stage, Potter recruited four singers whose voices can only be described as IN-SANE! Below, BroadwayBox gives a glimpse of the powerful sounds 54 Below audiences will be treated to tonight.
Let’s kick things off with country beltress Rachel Potter and her performance of “Somebody to Love” from The X Factor.
If Tony nominee Orfeh had a last name it would be Pipes because this singer doesn’t play around. Just listen to her belt “Ireland” (1:28) and, most importantly, “Ireland Reprise” (6:03).
Another singer known for blowing the roof off of theatres is Tituss Burgess. Below, he effortlessly nails Jonathan Reid Gealt’s gorgeous ballad “Quiet.” [7 PM show only]
You have probably seen the mega-talented Christina Bianco on stage or various TV shows, like Ellen. If you need a refresher, check her “Let It Go” mash-up below. [9:30 show only]
Bookending this roundup is fellow X-Factor Finalist Khaya Cohen, who will reunite with Potter tonight onstage. She’s had many great numbers, but our fave was “Let It Be”.
