May 30 is the feast day of Joan of Arc. On this date in 1431, at age 19, Joan was burned at the stake for heresy. Hundreds of years later, in 1920, she was recognized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church, and May 30 was given as her feast day. All this history comes to life brilliantly in the Manhattan Theatre Club revival of Shaw’s Saint Joan, starring Condola Rashad in the title role. Bbox celebrates this May 30 with a look at scenes from the starry revival.
