Gavin Creel - Happy Happy Birthday from the BroadwayBox fam!
You know him, you love him. You might have danced in the aisles with him at the Broadway revival of Hair. You might have witnessed his Tony Award making moment in Hello, Dolly as Cornelius Hackl. You might have swooned while he sang "You Matter To Me" with bestie Sara Bareilles in Waitress. One thing's for sure - he's one of our favorites and we are wishing him a very Happy Birthday!
Gavin's recently been working on writing a commission with The Metropolitan Museum of Art - a musical entitled Walk On Through: Confessions of a Museum Novice which has since been postponed from June 22nd for the time being. This would not be the first time that Gavin has written music before. While gracing Broadway stages in La Cage aux Folles, Hair and others - he created three albums, Goodtimenation, Quiet, Get Out and a single "Noise" to support the fight for marriage equality (which has since passed legislation), collaborating with songwriters Robbie Roth and Ben Cullum.
For his birthday, we decided to highlight Gavin's incredible original tunes ahead of his upcoming venture with The Metropolitan Museum.
