Each day, the Bbox team trolls YouTube for the hot clip—sometimes it's a brand-new moment and sometimes it's a throwback to an oldie but goodie. No matter what praise hands are shot up, pearls are clutched and the repeat button is hit.
"Let Me Be Your Star" (Jeremy Jordan and Jonathan Groff)
Ulterior Motives: Friends, it is Friday. The only ulterior motive here is that it’s finally the weekend and the best way to kick it off is with two of Broadway’s tenors that we just are not worthy of… in blonde wigs… singing from NBC’s 'Smash'.
MCC Theater’s annual Miscast benefit brings Broadway’s brightest together to sing songs they normally would not have the opportunity to sing. We wanted to travel back 7 years to this laugh out loud moment from their 2013 benefit.
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: There are two honorable mentions first. Jonathan's growly "Let" of "Let Me Be Your Star" at 2:35 is a gentle reminder that he was a rock star in Broadway's Spring Awakening. Jeremy at 3:22 is so marvelous with the little riff. The pièce de résistance however is at 3:34 - their PERFECT. PITCH. They sing in unison and they are right on the note. Bravo!
GIF-able moment:
