Ryann Redmond stars as Disney’s first female Olaf in the hit Broadway musical adaptation of Frozen
. She brings her contagious joy and killer vocals to the beloved role of the snowman longing for summer sun and eternal friendship.Ryann first broke out on Broadway as the adorable Bridget in Bring It On: The Musical before going on to memorable appearances in Broadway’s If/Then and Escape to Margaritaville and off-Broadway’s Gigantic, Usual Girls, and The Marvelous Wonderettes. She also starred as Tracy Turnblad in The Muny’s Hairspray. In other words, the lady’s got pipes! In the dozen videos below, check out Ryann singing her face off song after song.
“Don’t Rain on My Parade”, Funny Girl
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: She is delivering every lyric and serving comedy and vocals. I lived for that ending beginning at 2:06.
The Wicked Audition Medley
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: This video is wildly impressive. My jaw was dropped when she hit those Cheno Glinda notes (:27-:50). The Nessa, Chistery, and Morrible sections made me LOL, and the Elphie section at 2:15 is worth the wait.
“One and Only”, Adele
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Queens covering queens. Get ready to clutch your pearls for that little growl at 1:04 and for the major one at 4:05. Finally, her chance at 4:25 nearly made me fall off my chair.
“Get Out and Stay Out”, 9 to 5
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: This one is a throwback to the Bring It On out of town try-out, but she still slays this. The whole thing is worth it. She nails it.
“Sara Berry”, 35mm
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Ryann is serving you some badass bitch energy. You are not ready for the insanity of the whole “god save the queen” moment beginning at 3:49.
“Cain’t Say No”, Oklahoma!
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: She’s a comedy queen and don’t you forget it. She knocks every big note in this song out of the park, but it’s second to how charming she is here.
“It Ain’t No Thing”, Bring It On: The Musical
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: This is the original moment for Ms. Redmond (along with the equally fierce Tony nominee Ariana DeBose and Gregory Haney). She delivers at the 3:00 mark, and somehow I forgot about that WILD ending at 3:47. Wow.
“Let Me Your Star”, Smash
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Ryann and Melody Betts?! You better click it. I snapped at the screen for Melody’s “all in this girl's repertoire” at 1:33 but let’s talk about the ladies together at 2:30 through the option up at the end.
“At Last”, Etta James
Let’s take it down from the big belting and appreciate her slower, quieter moments. This is beautiful, especially 1:47.
The Prayer Medley with The Skivvies
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: This video made the list solely for the magic that happens at 3:35. #Shook.
“I’ll Always Love You”, Whitney Houston
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Girl, you know it’s the big Whitney moment at 2:51 and Ms. Ryann owns the whole thing.
“Good Morning Baltimore”, Hairspray
Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: She doesn’t enter until 1:15 into the video, but when she does, it’s like whoa. #ReviveHairspray. She shined from 2:17-2:42.
Don’t miss your chance to see Ryann Redmond as Olaf in ‘Frozen’ at Broadway’s St. James Theatre.
