The farce-like trio “I’ve Decided to Marry You” is the song from the Tony-winning Best Musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder; they’ve performed it at the Tonys, on the Today Show and during the Thanksgiving Day Parade. You know it, you love it, you may even have a designated part you like to sing (I’m a Sibella) but you’ve never seen it like this. Here’s why.
A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder’s dashing leading man Bryce Pinkham is temporarily saying so-long Highhurst, hello Heidi, and understudy Jeff Kready steps into the role of charming serial killer Monty Navarro in his stead. But before Pinkham packed up his poison and the like, he gave GGLAM fans a major treat: he wore a GoPro video camera on his head at a recent rehearsal of “I’ve Decided to Marry You” so we can see what this Tony nominee sees as he teeters between two doorways and two loves. (The full scene plays in the top corner if you need a refresher.)
Head over to the Walter Kerr Theatre to see this Tony-winning musical comedy for yourself.
