Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new FX series will explore the relationship of Broadway icons Bob Fosse & Gwen Verdon over eight episodes. Oscar winner Sam Rockwell & Oscar nominee Michelle Williams will take on the pair who together created Broadway’s Chicago, Damn Yankees, Sweet Charity, Redhead & New Girl in Town.
But there is no way to tell the story of Fosse & Verdon and not have Tony winner Ann Reinking in the picture. It’s a role that will no doubt score someone a Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Emmy nom.
Since the show’s announcement earlier this week, we’ve been just sleepless, racking our brains to come up with a list of Hollywood actresses who could pull it off, and here’s what we’ve come up with.
Anne Hathaway

The Oscar winner worked with Williams on Brokeback, she’s familiar with the world of musical theatre, and she’s charismatic on screen. The 24-year age difference between Verdon and Reinking might be tough to pull off, but TV magic.
Natalie Dormer

The Game of Thrones & Tudors star trained in dance at the UK’s Allenova School of Dancing, and she has proven she can absolutely steal a show in a featured role.
Jessica Paré

If this Mad Men standout could steal Don Draper’s heart, she could steal Bob Fosse’s.
Mila Kunis

The Golden Globe nominee grew up on TV, and she busted her ass to dance Black Swan, so Andy Blankenbuehler’s choreography shouldn’t be too bad.
Olivia Wilde

The star of Broadway’s 1984 apparently can dance according to Google, so bring her in.
Julianne Hough

If dance is an important factor, look no further. Also, she pulled off that brunette look for Footloose.
Jenna Dewan

Jenna made her bones in the world of dance, so playing one of the greatest Broadway dancers of all time should be no problem.
Nina Dobrev

The Vampire Diaries and Degrassi beauty has a dance background and is pretty damn fierce.
Katrina Lenk

The Tony Award winner is our Broadway shout-out. She’s an incredible actress and her movement is always mesmerizing (as audiences at Indecent, Once and The Band’s Visit can attest). This opportunity could introduce this stage talent to a much larger audience.
Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes is a dancer; Katie Holmes needs a big TV comeback moment; and Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams together in a love triangle would hook in every passing viewer of Dawson’s Creek.
