Tickets at Studio 54

Studio 54 was built in 1927 as The Gallo and was intended to house opera productions. It was the first of multiple names given to the theater, some of which include the legitimate theater The New Yorker and a dinner theater Casino de Paree. The venue is probably best known for its incarnation as a world-famous disco in the 1970s.

In 1998, The Roundabout Theatre Company returned Studio 54 back to a legitimate theater with the multiple Tony Award-winning show Cabaret.

Story for Wishful Drinking

Wishful Drinking, Carrie Fisher's auto-biographical solo show, follows Fisher's life. The work offers insights and experiences from her life and career covering everything from "Star Wars" to having Elizabeth Taylor as a stepmother to her marriage with Paul Simon and more.

Onstage, she recounts a true and intoxicating story with the same strong, wry wit that she poured into bestsellers like 'Postcards from the Edge.' Born to celebrity parents, Fisher lands among the stars when she's picked to play a princess in a little movie called 'Star Wars.' But it isn't all sweetness and light sabers. As a single mom, she also battles addiction, depression, mental institutions, and that awful hyperspace hairdo. It's an incredible tale — from having Elizabeth Taylor as a stepmother, to wedding (and shedding) Paul Simon, from having the father of her baby leave her for a man to waking up one morning and finding a friend dead beside her in bed. Don't miss this outrageous chance to get Carried away.

Wishful Drinking will begin previews on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 and open officially on Sunday, October 4th, 2009 at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th St). This is a limited engagement through January 3rd, 2010.
