2 Not Worth it! It should not be on Broadway!   Review by: Ana, Aug 12, 2008
"So much ado about nothing"
It should not be on Broadway!
Not the glamour, setting, story line, nothing like all other Brodways shows.
Not worth seeing! I saw it before Mario Lopez, but I am sure not even ML's dimples can revive this musical!

Don't go

boring, uneventful, no set changes, bad storyline, not broadway quality, could have been pulled off by a high school drama club. bought tickets at discount price and it was still a let down.

4 Lopez is a narrator you barely even see him   Review by: donains, Aug 4, 2008
Terrible!
So Boring! No Storyline, no costumes or stage decorations except for mirrors that kept coming back. A waste of money and time. Mario Lopez is a narrator the whole time you barely even see him, not that he's a big star anyway....

5 One of the best shows.   Review by: Josh, Jul 23, 2008
I thought that a chorus line was AWSOME it made see how hard it is to make it just in the chorus on broadway. The songs made me want to dance. I sang all the song when i got out of the show. Mario Lopez is not the greatest actor but he was ok. Everyone else danced and sing their buts off. They showed how much talent their is in the world. To the beginning to the end i had chills. I loved it. I want to see it again before it closes.

6 Disappointing Night on Broadway for Us!   Review by: Jersey Mom, Jul 16, 2008
I'm not sure if age has changed my attitude or if sitting next to my mother-in-law and two teenage daughters affected my objectivity - but except for the solo and finale, I was grateful our center seats "only" cost $39.
I saw this 30 years ago and find it hard to believe this was the same script. Perhaps at 20, profanity rolled off my back.
B'way shows are not rated like movies. I guess I forgot what I was walking into. One ... read more

some of the below posts are v cynical!
I thought the cast were excellent and there was some amazing singing- the show is very 70s as thats when it was written and first performed.
Sit in orchestra near asile on left side facing stage and mario lopez will walk past you! yes, his poart needed an older character but hes so hot I forgive him. I want to have his babies. some v memorable performances but we didnt get cheap tickets.

8 Eh. Mediocre made worse by horribly uncomfortable seats.    Review by: , Jul 9, 2008
Eh. This is a very so-so production. I was excited to see this classic show, but left disappointed. The only part of the show which really grabbed me were the last two numbers. The dancing really didn't impress me too much, and they were not completely syncronized throughout each number (granted this was purposeful at times).
To make matters worse, this theater has -- BY FAR -- the worse seats ever. I'm not even tall, and my knees ... read more

9 Classic! An excellent show!   Review by: Broadwaymusicalfan, Jul 5, 2008
This is a classic! An excellent show! Acting-Fantastic, very "real" if you know what I mean. An amazing score! Great choreography! There's nothing bad that I could say about it (except for how small the Schoenfeld is). See this one before it closes!

10 This is not dancing with the stars-nor do the actors except a few (including Mario), dance like STARS.   Review by: BROADWAY GURU, Jun 14, 2008
Nothing against Mario Lopez, I actually like him,but the part he is playing (Zach)calls for an older person who has already been there and done that. Cassie, the woman Zach had an affair with years ago IS NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE HIS MOTHER. Very bad type casting using Mario. This show does not compare to it's predecessor nor compare to the movie starring Michael Douglas. Waste of time. Go see something that will leave you smiling when it ends,... read more

11 Good show - thought there should be more glitz.   Review by: hooked on broadway, Jun 8, 2008
Mario Lopez was excellent ( and very, very hot). The entire cast did a great job. I found myself wanting more of the glitz and glamour that was only shown at the finale.
Guess I just like the glitz of great broadway shows.
The show was funny and entertaining. Don't know why the shows have to put songs like T&A in them. It makes it hard to take children to see the show.
I was disappointed when I ... read more

I've seen this production twice, and the second time it only got better. For all of you complaining about there not being any real set, that's because the show is about an audition. That means it takes place on a stage. They already HAVE a stage, they don't need to build one for aesthetics. Clearly, if that's the most important aspect of a show for you, don't see this one and stop complaining and making it a deterrent for others, ... read more
